The first Superintendent's Open Door Session of the school year will take place Wednesday, Oct. 23 at the school system's main office on Northgate Drive. Chat time with the superintendent is first come, first served from 4-6 pm.


Reminder: Thursday, Oct. 17 is an early dismissal day, with students dismissed three hours early. Schools are closed Friday, Oct. 18 for the Maryland State Education Association Convention.

On Oct. 4, the 2024-2025 Wicomico Teacher of the Year, Debbie Reynolds (Wicomico Middle), joined the other 23 local teachers of the year from across the state at the Maryland Teacher of the Year Gala in Hunt Valley. Wicomico Schools had a fantastic time celebrating and supporting its top teacher, who in addition to teaching at Wicomico Middle is a graduate of James M. Bennett High and a former student of Bennett Middle, Prince Street Elementary, and Pittsville Elementary and Miiddle.. Thank you Ms. Reynolds for being such a fantastic representative of Wicomico County Public Schools, where our students are Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow.
Ms. Reynolds will continue to serve as Wicomico Teacher of the Year into April, when the 2025-2026 Wicomico Teacher of the Year is announced. That outstanding teacher is teaching in one of our schools right now, and your chance to nominate a deserving teacher for recognition is coming soon, starting Nov. 1.


The Office of Special Education and Early Intervention Services invites you to attend the first SECAC meeting of the 2024-2025 school year. Schedule for Wicomico County Public Schools this week: School system will be closed Thursday, July 4 for the Independence Day holiday. On Friday, July 5th, school system offices will be open, school office hours will vary (call ahead), and summer school classes and programs will not be held.


Summer school for high school students will take place June 26 to Aug. 1, and the time to register for remedial or original credit classes is now.
