We extend our heartfelt gratitude to one of our most significant supporters at MMHS, Mr. David Insley. Mr. Insley generously contributed $1,200 to our school, which he earned by photographing senior casuals and formals this year. Additionally, he dedicated his time on Monday to capture formal pictures for students who were unable to afford them.

Registration for this year’s AP exams begins on September 9th and ends November 1st, for Semester I or full year courses. The tests will be held between May 5th - 16th of 2025. This year, the cost of AP exams will be covered through MD Blueprint funding for courses that your student is enrolled in through WCPS. If your student registers late or registers for the exam and then decides not to take the test after the deadline above, College Board will charge a $40 fee, and WCPS will charge an additional processing fee.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact April Shiles, ashiles@mywcps.org, MMHS testing coordinator.

On the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, students and staff will have the opportunity to notice and recognize peers and/or staff who they have “CAUGHT BEING KIND”.
You may write who the person is, what they did that was KIND, when you saw the person being kind, and then sign the commendation (see attached form). These commendation forms will be in your 1st period classes during announcements on those 1st & 3rd Mondays of the month. They will then be collected & placed in a sealed box, near the front office before Wednesday afternoon. The Kindness Club will review submissions, and draw 2-3 randomly to be read by Mrs. Hastings & the Mardela Morning News Crew on the announcements at the end of the week. Others may be posted on our scrolling announcements or even our social media pages! We want to share ways that we MAY be KIND and ways that we ARE BEING KIND. This is GOOD NEWS!
Watch for the “CAUGHT BEING KIND” commendation forms and information that will be posted in student Google classrooms.

This week, students in Ms. Amber Dorman's ELA classes conducted a mock trial based on the play "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street". Students had to analyze the characters and conflicts in the play by creating direct and cross examination questions for the witnesses. A special thanks goes out to Judge Hooper for presiding over each case!
