SALISBURY, MD (June 15, 2023) - Wicomico County Public Schools is proud to announce the latest recipients in our employee recognition program known as the EXTRA MILE AWARD. Of the school system’s nearly 3,000 full and part-time employees, three are chosen each month for the award that is given to a WCPS employee that goes "above and beyond" their normal job requirements to assist students, staff and or enhance the school system.
For their extraordinary work in the month of May, EXTRA MILE Awards go to the following:
-TAMMY DEBERARDINIS, Special Education Instructor at Fruitland Primary
-DOUG KING, Instructional Assistant at Wicomico High School
-PAIGE LARMORE, Human Resources Specialist at Central Office

DeBerardinis, King and Larmore each received an EXTRA MILE AWARD plaque and a certificate from WCPS Superintendent Dr. Micah Stauffer and WCBOE Board Chairman Gene Malone. They were recognized at the Wicomico County Board of Education's monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 13th.
