The next monthly meeting of the Wicomico County Board of Education is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10 in the Board of Education Auditorium at 101 Long Ave., Salisbury.
For the Oct. 10th meeting, the Board will convene at 1:00 p.m. and immediately vote to go into closed session. The open portion of the meeting will begin at about 1:30 p.m. The agenda for this meeting will be available by the Friday before the meeting on BoardDocs: https://go.boarddocs.com/mabe/wcboe/Board.nsf/Public
This meeting will be livestreamed on the Watch Board Meetings page of the school system’s website (www.wicomicoschools.org). The Office of Special Education and Early Intervention Services invites parents of students with disabilities to the first Special Education Citizens Advisory Committee (SECAC) meeting of the school year. The meetings is scheduled for September 21, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The hybrid meeting will take place in the Media Center at Prince Street Elementary School. Participants will receive updates from the Office of Special Education and a presentation on IEP Basics from Parents Place of Maryland.
Wicomico County Public Schools joins our country in remembering the importance of September 11th each year. The 9/11 anniversary is also Patriot Day, and the National Day of Service and Remembrance. It's an important date for all to reflect on the lives lost and service given.

ONE WEEK AWAY! Saturday August 26th! The “Fresh Start: A Wicomico County Back-to-School Event” is back! The event will take place at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center on Saturday August 26th from 12 noon to 3 p.m.
This is for Wicomico County students in-need from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Students will receive a Free backpack along with several essential school supplies (while supplies last as this is first come, first serve).

For the July 11 Board meeting, the Board will convene at 6:30 p.m. and immediately vote to go into closed session. In accordance with the Board of Education Public Comments Protocol Policy, pre-registration for public comments is required. Public comments during the Board meeting will be limited to 20 participants. To register for public comments, please visit the pre-registration page (https://board_public_comments.wcboe.org/), which will be open starting one week prior to this Board meeting (at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 4) and will close one day before (at 7 p.m. Monday, July 10) before the Board meeting.
Anyone unable to pre-register online may visit the school system office at 2424 Northgate Drive during that timeframe (on any day except July 4, when the school system is closed for the holiday) to fill out a paper copy of the pre-registration form.
